Editorial Production Assistant

Editorial Production Assistant
Monthly Contract Fee: $40/hour
Remote, U.S. candidates only
Gyrate Media is looking for an editorial production assistant to support both Gyrate Media, a content strategy agency, and TueNight, a website and community for Gen-X women. The Editorial Assistant will work closely with our editorial, marketing, and operations staff to perform a variety of tasks including data entry & management, scheduling, communication, and coordination activities.
What You’ll Do:
Upload once-a-week content in Wordpress and Substack: formatting posts, creating and/or adding images, and optimizing SEO descriptions
Assist the staff with uploading and scheduling posts on social media
Schedule meetings, prepare agendas, take notes and follow up on action items
Light copywriting as needed
Coordinate project timelines, task assignments, and reporting
Organize workflow documentation and team assets in Google Drive
Set new hires up on Slack, Drive, Trello
Prepare/update contracts for signing
Maintain/manage editorial calendars
Manage polls and updates in Typeform
Update Media Kit stats as needed
General team assistance and support tasks
Research and respond to requests for information
Your Core Competencies:
Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to identify opportunities to increase team productivity and efficiency
Self-directed, willing to take initiative, and report on your progress
Resourceful, collaborative, and detail-oriented
Able to establish and maintain effective working relationships in a remote environment
Required Skills:
Prior editorial experience and/or administrative support
Tech-savvy and able to quickly learn how to navigate new digital platforms and technologies
Familiarity with social media scheduling tools, including native scheduling.
You have at least 5 years managing the production of digital content
Proficiency in Slack, Dropbox, Google Drive, Word programs, and Google Sheets is required.
